Family Fun on the Gold Coast

I was lying in bed last night thinking of the sensational Gold Coast accommodation we stayed at on our recent holiday to Australia. The gold Coast is located in the far south of the state of Queensland and is a fantastic destination for your next vacation. I travelled with my family and we chose self catering accommodation to help with the budget and we were delighted with the result. The Gold Coast is located just south of Brisbane. It is really easy to fly to the region as Brisbane and the Gold Coast each have their own airports and many overseas flights call into Brisbane. We looked at a number of options on www.aunztravel.com.au which is a specialist accommodation website for Australia and New Zealand. It was really easy to use and the staff there were very helpful when we had questions to answer. Anyway, back to the accommodation in a moment.
The Gold Coast is generally recognized as one of the best family holiday destinations in Australia. There is so much to choose from. Initially, there are some of the best theme parks in the world here. Each of your children will have a different one as their favourite. In the summer Wet n Wild water park is extremely popular. The Kids will all want to visit Seaworld and see the Polar Bears and the Dolphins as well as spending time on the thrill rides and playing in the water park. Dreamworld is home to some of the most amazing rides with thrills like the Giant Drop and the Wipeout are really popular. The kids can spend days here and always be fully entertained. Movie World is also close by and once again it is a mecca for all children wanting to be scared to death on the wonderful rides. We also took many day tours. The first tour was along the Broadwatwer to Stradbroke Island aboard a tall ship. This was a great day out.. We also went Whale Watching and saw a number of magnificent humpback whales as they migrated by. The next day we took a coach tour into the hinterland and we were amazed by the local scenery and wildlife. The Gold coast certainly has millions of things to do to entertain the family. On our last night we went to the Outback Spectacular dinner show. Talk about spectacular. Dozens of horses and even a helicopter fly into the enclosed arena demonstrating life in the Australian Outback. This is certainly not to be missed. The food was also sensational.
The Gold Coast is centred on the resorts around Surfers Paradise which, naturally enough, gets its name from the many extraordinary surf beaches that line its shores. This region can only be described as incredible if you love the beach and can see yourself riding the waves. Everything from beginners to world champions surf here. The non surfing visitor should make sure that they take in a surf carnival whilst they are in Surfers paradise. The Australian surf culture has a link into almost every Australian family and the surf carnival is a celebration of the wonderful sporting history of the Australian nation.
Anyway, back to the accommodation. We stayed at the Paradise resort which was a great family destination. There was so much to choose from in the site that we were overwhelmed. The Gold Coast has literally hundreds of high rise apartments and resorts, all lining the magnificent beaches. We sent the operators an email and one of their staff helped us to decide which resort to choose. I would certainly recommend you to do the same. Gold Coast accommodation is generally of exceptional standard and there is something to suit every budget.
